Healthy Crispy Roasted Yams (With Yogurt & All the Good Stuff)

There's just something special about the humble yam. It's the kind of ingredient that doesn't need much -- just a hot oven, a little olive oil, and some time to roast. Once you add some cream-top yogurt from our grass-fed Guernseys and other favourite toppings, you've got a healthy meal!

Let's talk about toppings, though. Because as good as the roasted yam is -- especially when caramelized, crisp on the outside, soft in the center -- it's really what you put on top that takes them from a kind of potato to something extraordinary.
This month's recipe is a celebration of two things we love: crispy roasted yams and our plain, organic A2A2 yogurt. That creamy spoonful on top? It's not just for garnish. It balances the sweetness of the yam, brings a little tang, and ties everything together in such a satisfying way. :)

So, our yogurt isn't just a topping -- it's the heart of this dish. And because it's made from the rich milk from our Guernsey cows, it's naturally higher in protein, easier to digest with the A2A2 beta-casein, and has that perfect texture to make it feel indulgent.
This recipe is easy to make: you start by roasting halved or sliced yams until they're tender. Then you give them a quick sear in a hot skillet with honey (we recommend Nielsen's Honey) and butter until the sides are crisp and caramelized. Then top with a generous spoonful (or two!) of our plain organic yogurt, and finish it off with whatever extras you love -- herbs, avocado, lime, a dash of heat. It's cozy comfort food with a fresh twist.
What You'll Need:
4 medium yams, washed and peeled
olive oil & salt
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp honey
Toppings: our plain organic yogurt, fresh herbs (basil, cilantro, mint), lime wedges, chopped avocado, sriracha, etc.

Step-By-Step Instructions
1.Preheat oven - Preheat oven to 425F.
2. Prep your yams - Slice them in half lengthwise or crosswise, depending on how you want them. Drizzle each side with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
3. Roast - Place sliced yams on the baking sheet and roast until tender.
4. Sear - In a hot cast iron skillet, melt butter and honey together. Place roasted yams down and sear for 3-5 minutes, until golden and caramelized.
5.Top it off: Transfer to a plate and add a generous dollop of our creamy yogurt. Then layer on the extras you love!
