These yogurt bagels are moist and absolutely delightful, especially when prepared using our organic, A2A2 cream-top yogurt!
Who knew that homemade bagels could be so delicious, healthy and easy to make! If you love bagels with cream cheese, jam (Mrs. Jones' Jams would be amazing with these bagels), or whatever way you best like to consume them, keep on reading about how to make them yourself.
This recipe makes approx. 8-10 bagels.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (we recommend One Organic Farm's all-purpose flour)
1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
Avocado oil & bagel seasoning
Instructions
1.Gather the ingredients.
2. Mix the first four ingredients together until a soft dough forms. If dry, add more yogurt. (You can also add extras at this point, such as cheese, green onions, jalapenos, if you like.)
3. Divide the dough into roughly eight balls.
4. Using your finger, make a hole in the center of each ball.
5. Put parchment on a baking sheet, and bring a pot of water to a slow boil. Add the baking soda to the water.
6. Slowly drop your bagels into the water.
7. Once the bagels rise to the top, remove them with a slotted spoon and place on parchment paper.
9. Spray the bagels with avocado oil and add any bagel seasoning that you are using.
10. Place into oven, and bake bagels at 375 for approx. 20 minutes. Then flip over and bake for another 15 minutes or until golden brown.
11. Take a picture and share it with us on Instagram: @promisevalleyfarm!
Enjoy your bagels!
We hope you enjoy these bagels! Since our yogurt contains only the A2 beta-casein protein (also found in sheep or goat milk), it is perfect for those who find it difficult to digest conventional A1 milk.
Plus, our yogurts have no additives or preservatives, are low-temperature pasteurized (not homogenized), are single-sourced (only from our heritage Guernsey cows -- we don't source our milk from other farms) and are in plant-based packaging (no plastic!), which keeps you from being exposed to any harmful chemicals.
If you don't live on southern-mid Vancouver Island (Victoria to Qualicum Beach) where you can find our yogurts in several stores, we encourage you to read labels and research the brand of yogurt you buy to make sure that their values align with yours.
