The HEALTHIEST organic & grass-fed beef burgers (our own beef!)

Once a year, we offer our own organic, grass-fed beef at our farm store: ground beef, beef bones, and select cuts. Caroline loves making beef burgers out of the ground beef for her family. It's simple, rustic, and full of flavour and nutrients!

Last month, we had our own organic, grass-fed beef for sale -- and it was sold out in a record time of only two days!


You might be wondering: what can one do with all that beef? One quick and easy recipe, that's also quite tasty, is burgers. Made with our ground beef, these burgers are made with several local ingredients, too: onion or shallot from Tatlo Road Farm, and eggs from Lockwood Farms! They're very easy to make, and can be thrown together in a few minutes. :)

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion or shallot, chopped (we got ours at Tatlo Road Farm)

  • 1/3 cup ground flax

  • 2 eggs (we used Lockwood Farms' Ecoeggs)

  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 2 lbs of organic, grass-fed ground beef

  • salt and pepper, as desired


Instructions

1.Thaw out 2lbs of our grass-fed, organic ground beef and put in a bowl.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the ground beef and mix well.

3. Shape the mixture into desired size patties (you can make kid sizes, adult sizes, in between... whatever you like!)

4. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes.

5.Cook as desired, either on a cast-iron skillet or on BBQ. Remember to only flip once to retain moisture.
